The Scimitar-horned Oryx (Oryx dammah) is an unmistakable desert antelope distinguished by its predominantly white coat, rich reddish-brown neck and exceptionally long horns that sweep backwards in a graceful curve.

Both males and females carry the characteristic ridged horns. The species’ refined facial markings, strong neck and elegant horn shape make it particularly well suited to shoulder mounts, European presentations and striking full-body taxidermy.

Adapted to the arid environments of North Africa, the Scimitar-horned Oryx has a light-coloured coat that reflects heat, broad hooves suited to sandy ground and protective features that help it withstand harsh desert conditions. Smithsonian’s National Zoo

At Karoo Taxidermy, each Scimitar-horned Oryx trophy is individually sculpted and finished to preserve its distinctive colouring, refined facial structure and sweeping horn profile. Clients may select a traditional shoulder mount, European mount or custom full-body presentation
